I Ride: Nekkid!!!
Looks like I'll be here for awhile.
Well, I lived in Yakima from 97 to 07, was in Moses Lake for a year and a half, and now I'm back here. Wasn't planning to be here long, but at this point it doesn't look like I'll be leaving town anytime soon.

So, I be looking for folks to ride with in the area. All you need know about me is, I'm a gear nazi, I ride slow, I don't do wheelies and my bike hasn't sat still for more than 2 weeks in the last year. Okay, maybe the slow part is a lie. Depends on who you ask.

If these qualities (or shortcomings) don't bug you, hit me up for a ride anytime the ice is cleared off.

Well... welcome back to god's blind spot! Oops... I mean Yakima! Hope to see you out and about.... when the nasty snow is gone.

You'll probably see me long before the snow is gone. If there's bare pavement, I roll.

I think I definitely qualify as a lifestyle rider. Just not in the sense it's usually used. I don't wear chaps and fringe.

Welcome back! Don't think my bikes sat for more than two weeks last summer either, since I clocked a little over 10K last year.

Nope. And I really hope when the weather clears up I can find some locals I can stand to ride with. Last time I tried to ride with a group in Yakima, there was one guy who kept doing wheelies, one who got mad at me because he couldn't see my hand signals (he was riding right next to me as I was leading, not staggered), and one who kept saying we should "hit Nob Hill, find some bitches!"

Sorry folks, but if you're one of these riders, don't hit me up. I don't like watching people get hurt, I'm not going to jail for you, and I don't ride to impress women. I'm picky about who I ride with, and when I ride, I like to RIDE. Cruising the boulevard doesn't really cut it, I'd rather hit the road less travelled.

Sorry if my self-righteous attitude offends anyone....

If you are down near Prosser you are welcome to ride with us. There are 3-4 of us that ride together and are conservative riders. Most arent on here anymore... We ride a lot up near Mt Adams and use the back roads to get there to stay away from as much traffic as we can. Sometimes we just go on scouting missions to check out an area to see what it's like. I have found lots of places to ride north of the Klickitat canyon that are very cool.

We congregate at the local Starbucks and plan places to check out too when its too cold to go very far.

So hit me up if you are interested.

Took a longish ride today, got up to Whistlin' Jack, the South Wenas, and Cottonwood Canyon. Yesterday I did Konnowac pass. I really missed some of these roads.

I'm unemployed right now, so anyone and everyone (except those named above) can hit me up anytime they want someone to ride with, either PM here with some notice, or I think my cell is on my profile.

BTW, if you're in RCW, you already have a bias factor against you, and you'll have to work harder to earn my respect. Jusy FYI.....

Cool. Those are some nice places to ride. I havent been to Cottonwood Canyon that I remember. I'll have to check it out.

Lots of places to ride around here. I am hoping to venture into central Oregon more this summer. Dont know it very well but there are some neat places to see not that far away.

Rowena Loop is a good one too. Short but fun.

It's located between The Dalles Oregon and Mosier just off of 84... Actually part of route 30 if I recall.

Here's a map that may help..

The red star on the map is Rowena Crest which is where I took the picture I posted. If I am headed east I normally get to it from The Dalles. There is an exit closer but I think it is only available to the eastbound lane... Sorry can't remember for sure.

I am pretty sure you are right. I know there are a few signs saying route 30 along there. I know Multnomah falls is exit 31 off of 84, and I believe I saw a route 30 sign in there too. I'd think I would know it better as many trips to Portland I do each year.

Can't remember the exit out of the Dalles to Rowena Loop but it is the last one on the west end of town, the one with all the fishies on the overpass... Just peel off there and take a left over the overpass. Take a right at the stopsign and follow the signs.

I'll have to run 30 farther this riding season and scout it out. Luckily I get most Fridays off and the weekend so I use Friday for scouting new territory....

Yes for sure. There are lots of places to go around there. I have found a bunch on the Washington side that are great places to ride too. Most I have found by exploring.

Yea I know exactly what you are saying. I hate doing it alone myself. I did a lot of it last year since the others I ride with were busy...... I just hate to sit at home waiting for the others when the weather is good so I figure I'll go out and find some place new. I managed about 10K miles last summer so I did some riding..

If you are ever up this way and want to go for a ride let me know!
