What did you ride before? I personally would chose something with a little bit of character, something that you don't see everyday. I like twins (Ducati 1198 or KTM rc8 come to mind). I am sure the R1 is a fine bike but really cookiecutter. Really though, I kinda feel that there is relatively little to be really excited about in the sportbike world right now. All the bike that seem to be interesting are extremely over priced and really not much new in the more attainable price ranges. Personally, if I were to purchase an inline four I would go with the Honda cbr1000rr 08 or 09. Most well rounded and balanced bike even though I don't care for the look of the front end a ton. |

If you want to actually enjoy what the road has to offer, go with a nice liter bike. I would take black_busa up on his offer for his 05 ZX-10. Don't know the condition of his, but generally speaking it is an awesome bike. |

Lots of information out there, lots of good choices. Come back and look at your finalists, try to get some demo rides in. Good luck. |
